NOTES:
I was at this show! I got a parking ticket after the show but it was well worth the $28. It was the augmented setlist with a few more Frogstomp cuts and the bursts of energy from the band made it memorable. Stand outs for me were "Point of View" and "Spawn (Again)" since I have not previously seen those performed live. The new solo version of "Tomorrow" was also very special to hear. Though personally, I was really hoping for "No Association" over "Satin Sheets" and felt "Madman" just didn't fit into the vibe/flow. There are several sources for recordings of this show - the last stop of the US Neon Ballroom tour. First, I personally recorded it from the audience on a Sharp MD-MS702 MiniDisc recorder with Core Sound Binaural Mics near the sound board. Sounds great but unfortunately it cuts out during "Spawn (Again)". This show was also professionally recorded, mixed and broadcast on the radio months later on the Westwood One syndicated show "In Concert". Sadly they didn't broadcast the entire show and it is censored for language. I have 2 different versions of this with different track lists, both are pre-FM broadcast and incomplete. Both have fake crowd noises to enhance the excitement on the radio. One has a DJ and commercials the other has these edited out. There was another audience recording, source unknown but I suspect tape. This recording is complete save for a few minor cuts. Sound is not great on that one. Finally, the white whale. I have a 2nd generation cassette copy of what sounds to me like an internet stream possibly from the HOB website or radio network. It is a soundboard source and its complete and uncensored. Unfortunately it is a tape copy of a tape copy. Last but not least, the band shot home video around the HOB which included a complete performance of "Anthem Y2K". These videos were edited together and broadcast on the Australian TV show Recovery. If you have any other source for this date PLEASE get in touch with me!
