NOTES:
This one comes from a DAT tape that I was sent in order to make a MD copy. I don't recall exactly why, but I'm assuming this was before I had an interface with digital connections so a digital transfer from DAT to MD was the best I could do at the time. MD imposes a 5:1 lossy reduction in data (audio) similar to MP3 but better. It is very bass heavy (especially on the left channel), and a little over recorded even after they turn it down during "Madman". I suspect that the taper was close to the stage and had their mics set up backwards since the heavy bass is on the left but Chris is usually on the right so its likely coming off the stage. Vocals are super low on "Leave Me Out" until they fix it in the mix. Not the first time that's happened and probably the result of having an instrumental opening song. Otherwise nice early recording with a few new songs and a B-side. This show was part of the College Music Journal (CMJ) convention so the crowd is likely a bunch of industry type people and some fans. TRT: 60m
